Every suite at The Neighborhood Hotel Grand Beach is outfitted with a full kitchen plus a communal kitchen and grills which makes bringing in a chef or setting up a delivery simple. It works for a family long weekend, a group of friends, or a corporate retreat that wants dinner handled so the day can stay focused on the reason everyone came.

Pedro Villasenor Owner of Nola Roux in St. Joseph. Chef Villasenor grew up in his family’s Mexican restaurant in Chicago, then opened Nola Roux in 2018 after a trip to New Orleans turned into a love of Cajun and Creole cooking. His seafood boils are the signature order. Instagram · Website

Cecilio Rodriguez Chef Rodriguez pairs a full dinner service, plated or family-style, with a live DJ set, so the booking covers both the meal and the entertainment. Instagram

Flock & Forage Chef Samantha DeMichael sources directly from local farmers and builds each menu around what’s in season, from brown butter radish toast to homemade fruit leather. A good fit for a lighter, produce-forward meal.Instagram

Jackie’s Cafe Blueberry French toast with Michigan maple syrup and an egg foo young sandwich with sriracha aioli. Breakfast, lunch. Closed Tuesdays.

Luisa’s Harbert Swedish Bakery & Market Family-run since 1912, currently under mother-daughter duo Luisa Mills and Vivian May. Yeasty breads, coffee cakes, and danishes made from recipes passed down for generations. Breakfast. Thursday through Sunday.

David’s Deli Sandwiches made from premium, locally sourced ingredients. The veggie sandwich and Reuben are standouts, alongside solid coffee and blueberry muffins. Breakfast, lunch. Closed Tuesdays.

Whistle Stop Sandwiches and salads plus fresh pies, bagels, and breads baked in house. Breakfast, lunch. Open daily.

Rios Mexican Grill Fresh Mexican food. The guacamole and tacos are the ones to order. Lunch, dinner. Open daily.

Froehlich’s Bakery & Deli Homemade jams and breads, plus prepared foods like enchiladas. Bagels available weekends only, and many guests rank them above what they’ve had in Chicago. Lunch. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The Neighborhood Hotel was founded in 2020 by Jonathan Gordon — a travel enthusiast who enjoys spaces that inspire, comfort and fuel. Each suite is well equipped for short and longterm stays (i.e. kitchens, laundry, etc.). The Neighborhood Hotel transforms old buildings with compelling history into well outfitted apartment style hotels that honor the old while representing the now. The vibe is fresh and fun with rooms that are stocked to support everyone from the homebody to the adventurer. The hotels provide a basecamp for the explorer and a sanctuary for the traveler who needs to recharge, reset or just chill. The suites are simple and clean, punctuated with accents that bring the right amount of pop. The Neighborhood Hotel has locations in Chicago: Lincoln Park, Little Italy and Southwest Michigan: New Buffalo and Grand Beach.

Our buildings have stories ingrained in the walls (in a non-creepy way) - stories that are meant to be told and shared. The Neighborhood Little Italy was formerly the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame which honored the greatest Italian-American athletes, broadcasters, and sports workers to benefit athletics in the United States. Once again, we've fallen for a space outfitted with cool history + architecture. Grateful to all of the hard workers and supporters who are turning another NEIGHBORHOOD HOTEL vision/dream into reality!
